Jizzy of
L.A. Guns & Love/Hate

 By: Scott Redeker

Are you getting ready for the new TOUR?
yes, we're working in the new bass player and rehearsing for the tour which starts in may--

Any changes in the tour?  Is it still Poison, RATT Great White, and LA Guns?
no changes, same line-up

Are you excited to play some bigger places again?
yeah, bigger places are more fun, but for different reasons--bigger venues mean more "perks" , such as good food, showers, lots of room to run around , etc.

How did both love/hate and LA Guns get signed to Perris Records?
LAG had something going with Perris and I , for fun, played Perris a tape of some music I had  done with joey gold like 2 years ago, stuff that was slated to be on a love/hate record but was pulled....he dug it and the rest is history.

If the songs for Let's Eat were written a while ago, why are you releasing them now?
Why didn't the songs make other love/hate cds?
the reason I'm releasing these songs now is because Perris dug them enough to release them--they weren't on previous l/h CD's because there was a difference of opinion as to musical direction ---I wanted to go in a harder direction

How did you get involved with the tribute albumns for Van Halen, Led Zepplin and GNR?
joe leste from bang tango got me the tribute gigs---got to sing songs that I've always dug, and get paid to do it

How come Joey Gold didn't play in the latest love/hate shows?
joey didn't play in the latest love/hate shows because he pretty much hates everyone in the group---there won't be any future involvment from the "original" members  playing together----not to say there won't be any future lov/hate shows, just not from the original guys

How did you get Joey to do the new cd? What is he up to?
as I said, joey and I did this collection of music some two years ago, which explains why he's doing the drumming---I hear he's actually managing a band now, they're called "suction " and they're signed to Electra

How often do you see the other members of love/hate?
Do you still talk to everyone?
.I talk to skid, I don't talk to jon or joe

Will songs like Stoney River, Tinsel Town, My Sugar, or I Am The Snake ever be released?
How come I Am The Snake never made it on any cd. It was played live quite often.
as far as these songs go, some of the master recordings belong to Sony unless somebody bootlegs them, I don't see them being released

Any chance of a live love/hate cd or a cd full of old demos being released?
actually, Cleopatra records offered us some $$ to do a "latest and greatest " collection, but the money was so small I opted to decline---

Would you like to sing more love/hate songs in the set or is it nice to song some other songs for a change?
I like singing the love/hate songs, but this is L.A.guns and they have so many good songs I think it would be kinda weird to do more l/h than we do

What is your favorite LA Guns song to sing?
"over the edge"

Do you think being out on tour with LA Guns has helped the sales for love/hate?
me being in L.A. guns has helped the love/hate cause tremendously---- before I joined the band there was about 1500 hits on the l/h site....now there's over 10,000--I'll take credit for some of those

Will there be any Love/Hate songs in the setlist for the new L.A. Guns tour?
If so, will they be new or old ones?  I think Spinning Wheel fits the set great.
we already do "spinning wheel " and "blackout" in the set...that's enough

How much input did you have on the new LA Guns cd?
I wrote all the lyrics for the new lag record...

How would you describe the sound of the new LA Guns cd?
I'd describe it as traditional lag -sound....blues-based---sounds like the first  two records

Were you friends with anyone in LA Guns before you joined the group?
I toured a bit with lag back "in the day" ----I knew tracii socially, that was about it

Why play cover songs in LA Guns when there is so much material from Guns and love/hate to choose from?
we play led zep songs in our set because that's our favorite band and we enjoy playing them

Why do you think love/hate never sold a billion cds?  With all the work everyone put in, it should have happened.?
people often ask me this, maybe we were ahead of our time, maybe we were just unlucky, in retrospect I was just so lucky to have experienced what most people dream of, the tours, the glitz, etc.--I look back on that time as al;l positive
and I certainly don't feel "jipped" 'cause I didn't sell a million records     OK? Later-----jizz
