For those who aren't familiar with Roxx Gang, they
are one of the most overlooked acts in the glam hard
rock genre. With all their albums (aside from Mojo Gurus), Kevin Steele
and his cohorts have personified
dirty, sleazy, fun rock n' roll. For sure the slogan 'Sex, Drugs, and
Rock 'n' Roll' is one that Steele has
probably lived to the fullest, even if he may have been slowed down by the grunge
and rap-metal movements. Amazingly, Roxx Gang has outlasted most bands
from the 80s and 90s. Bodacious Ta Tas is a 'greatest hits' package but since
the band has never really had a radio hit, I guess this cd is better termed
'a collection of what the band considers their best songs.' Fans of MTV's
Headbanger's Ball may remember their 1988 videos for "No Easy Way Out" and the
anthemic "Scratch My Back," both of which appear on Bodacious Ta Tas.
During the height of grunge Roxx Gang released the rockin' The Voodoo You Love,
and three strong songs from that album appear on here - the upbcd is plugged
into your computer. Overall this is a good collection, aside from the
songs from Mojo Gurus. Their other albums presented stronger songs (ie.
"Stone Dead Drunk (Again)," "Race With The Devil," "Can't Catch Me," and "Just
Can't Win (With You)") that would have made for a more consistent best of. Nevertheless,
if you like fun rock n' roll, this serves as a good introduction to a band that
should be bigger than they are.
