L.A.GUNS - WAKING THE DEAD (SPITFIRE RECORDS)
L.A.GUNS returns with their most impressive album in years! "WAKING
THE DEAD" is the heaviest yet melodic cd since "VICIOUS CIRCLE" Vocalist Phil
Lewis sounds amazing on this one! Tracii's playing is fucking slammin' as usual!
New bassist Adam Hamilton of the band NEEDLE PARK delivers a great performance!
"WAKING THE DEAD" can be best described as "VICIOUS CIRCLE" meets "COCKED &
LOADED" with a dab of "HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES"! Standout tracks: "OK, Let's Roll"
based on the 9/11 flight that crashed in Pennsylvania! This tracks gets you
pissed off all over again!! "Don't Look At Me That Way" is the album opener
has a IRON MAIDEN Vibe Intro then it kicks into an "HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES"
type track! Other standouts are: "Waking The Dead", "The Ballad", "Revolution"
kicks ass, "Psycopathic Eyes" has a "Kill That Girl" vibe, & "Hellraisers
Ball"! There was supposed to be a track called "Call Of The Wild" on here that
is listed on the promo cd but it's nowhere to be found in the actual mix! Hopefully
it will make the final cut come release day in AUG. 2002! This CD is an amazing
triumph for L.A.GUNS! I'm already looking forward to what they come up with
for the next one!!! "WAKING THE DEAD" should please older fans as well as make
some new ones! L.A.GUNS is back better than ever!!!
