DIAMONDS AND RUST-ROXX (PERRIS RECORDS)
There are not that many good unknown party/glamrockbands, but ROXX is definitely an exception to the rule, because 'Diamonds and rust' is definitely a high quality album in the style of RATT CRUE, KIX & Helix; ROXX is not a new band however, because the recordings of 'Diamonds and rust' go back to the mid 1980s when this New York settled band released a bunch of demos. This CD contains the complete collection of songs ROXX recorded between 1985 and 1989. Lead singer George 'Roxi' Hall had the perfect Glamvoice, somewhere between Vince Neil and Kristy Majors from PBF), and the strong sound of ROXX was quite excellent melodic party/glamrock a la early MOTLEY CRUE and RATT. The best songs of the 13 included are the uptempo Party rockers "Better off dead", "Too little too late", "Rock steady", "A girl like you", "Ruff stuff", "Deep in the night" and "Kidz Rock" (a winner for PBF/POISON fans!). I really have to admit that Glam/Partyrock can sound pretty good and catchy, and you can hear that clearly on this ROXX CD!
